Soon to be home

Alot has happened in the past week. We have flowers, a kitchen and a lovely back deck complete with vinyl deck covering, something new for us. I must admit I stand in my applianceless kitchen and dream of making meals there and enjoying family and friends. It has been an amazing week in the Okanogan with warm temperatures that make you almost forget winter is coming. We have been given a tentative move in date of Oct 15th so needless to say, the excitement is bulding. Howard is having knee surgury this week and I am on a speaking tour in Montana so we are at opposite ends of the world!! We look forward to your next visit.

Okanogan Autumn

I loved it here in the summer but nothing can compare with the hint of fall in the air. The kids are back in school so our beach and campgrounds are empty but the weather is 27 degrees so we are enjoying a beautiful summer day!! Yesterday we went sailing with friends which was just what the "rest" doctor ordered. Not only did we have great company, but there was a gentle breeze which propelled us along peacefully and when the wind completely died down, we were not far from our mooring and just puttered in with the little motor. It was a perfect outing. Today we finsihed all of our laminate and were excited to see all of our cabinets arrive. They will start installing them tomorrow. The anticipation is almost more than I can stand!!! H. is now working on some window wells but as soon as I had everything in the basement vaccumed, I treated myself to a dip in the lake. It was beautiful, refreshing and except for the goose poop all over our beach grass, a perfect experience. We have leftovers for supper which is always my favourite as it makes for no planning. H. heads back to Alberta tomorrow for meetings and I have a week on my own to enjoy the summer weather. I wlll pop up and visit mom and maybe work on my drapes in anticipation of actually moving in!!! Fall is the perfect time for you to stop by. It is still gorgeous in the Okanogan.

Feeling old today

HI friends, We are back in BC and have been installing laminate all day. It is kind of like quilting with wood!! There is alot of getting up and down though so we are two aching bodies thinking we are maybe too old for this nonsense. ....... but the wonderful thing is, it looks great. WE didn't have anybody else working in the house today as it is a holiday which means another short week which means more delays in moving in. We are still content in our fifth wheel and grateful for it. Company arrives tomorrow evening and we are excited to share our home with them. Hope the weather clears off. It has been quite overcast today but the lake was extra calm. Did not get a chance to try it out though. I will post pics this week. Our red wall is in and it is hilarious to watch people's reaction!! It is rather intense but is going to look wonderful!!!

School starts tomorrow - ain't retirement grand???? We will be working once again, which is really no change from the holiday!! :) Had a few visits with the neighbours though. People are always more important than progress. Love to all

Blessed for 30 years

It is the eve of our 30th anniversary. We are so blessed to still be best friends. It has gone so quickly. Today in an age where committment seems to be a thing of the past, we thank the Lord for a very special marriage. God has had first place in our lives and we give Him the glory for the life together we have had. As we watched our youngest get married this summer , we saw again the beauty of young love. We pray as they let the Lord lead them, they will experience a love that lasts forever. Happy anniversary.
