Still alive
We are still alive and freezing to death. We have been home for a week and are now hanging out with family while Howard paints his horse trailer. Our house in BC has been delayed a week so we are very content to stay in Alberta for now. We have been enjoying our friends so much back at home but do miss those we were blessed to spend time with this winter. I will try and keep up to the blog for you who are following. The most exciting thing was for me to get my car back. yayayayay Love to all, H and N

Home in Alberta
At 2 am this morning we arrived in snow encrusted Alberta!! We drove through blizzards, black ice and fog and have decided we are staying until March down south next year!!! It is great to be home. I took some pictures which I will post later but can't find my camera cord!!! Our stuff is piled in the middle of our little living room, Howard is gone off to his meeting with bloodshot eyes, but we are glad to be home. My morning started off with a happy phone call to Ruth, my cousin and friend. We are going to quilt guild today to sew, gab and celebrate some birthdays. How I love friends!!!We are here for the week before we head to the farm to get H's horse trailer painted so we can get back to BC to dig and build. We saw the builder yesterday and all is a go so we are grateful for that. We love our trailer spot and will be very comfy there. Sometimes we wonder why we are building but the new fireplace I purchased and the three area rugs just won't fit in the 5th wheel. Love to all, thanks for your prayers as we have travelled. It is exactly 300o miles from BC to Texas and we can hardly wait to go again!!! N.

New Home
We are back in Canada and parked at our new temp. home in BC. We leave for Alberta tomorrow. There is no snow and we haven't had any snowy roads all the way home. Our border crossing was beyond amazing and we would have enjoyed our drive if we hadn't been so tired. We started at 6:45 am this morning and have finally arrived at 11 pm. (Note to self - allow 4 days for travel to Arizona!!!! The trailer is wonderful and we once again are feeling so blessed. Our kids are doing great and we are looking so forward to seeing them. We are staying home for a few days until Sunday and are looking forward to NOT travelling. Love to all. Thanks for your prayers. H and N ps If we are on the right lot, we love it!!!

Almost home

We are still driving. Good grief it is a long way home. Tonight we are in Oregon and hope to park the new home near Vernon tomorrow night. Then we whip home to Alberta on Tuesday. Today was a long day and because of the darkness, we have no idea what it looks like here!! We did have a 5 minute snowstorm so that God could remind us that we are Canadian!!! Vehicles are behaving well and we are enjoying, yet another audio book!! We have gone from Cactus to real trees today. We long for the mountains and the lake of home. See some of you soon, Naomi

Almost to Arizona
We made good time today and are in Lordsburg, NM tonight. It was an uneventful day with miles and miles of beautiful country, good roads and happy travels. It is pickin cold again. The furnace goes out and we freeze!!!! Tomorrow we should get to Arizona by noon and then I have some carpets to go and purchase at the market. WE may try to get on the road home tomorrow.
It is hard to believe that our usa time is almost done. What a wonderful winter we have experienced!! We are missing our family and look forward to hearing first hand all about the wedding plans. Love to all, Naomi

Valentines travels
We celebrate this valentines day still in Texas but making progress. We stopped for a bit today as our new air springs are not working properly and H. had to do a little repair. That put us in San Antonio at 5 pm. Ah, the joys of the city. We are sooooooooooooooooooooo glad we are country life bound. We didn't get as far as we had hoped today so, of course that means we shall rise with the sun and head out early tomorrow to make a mile. We are so blessed with a lovely home to live in on the road and that all works. Our bed is looking very inviting. We did take the time to enjoy a Valentines supper together. We feel that each other is a gift and are so thankful we share a marriage that we just enjoy being together. (N. did wake up grumpy from her nap yesterday but has stayed in good spirits today :) We love that we can rent audio books and are enjoying the latest Nicholas Sparks novel, Dear John. We have just started it so it should keep us entertained tomorrow. It was sad to once again say goodbye to our friends at RGBI. We have left with new "heart" friends and are already counting the days to getting together as soon as we can. Happy valentines to all those we love dearly. N.

Safe in Texas
We arrived in Texas today around 4:30 to many hugs and greetings. It felt like we had come home. Archie forfeited an evening with the guys to go research hitch possibilites for us and I went out with some of the gals. Howard learned the men's ensemble # on the street with Gord and is planning to sing tomorrow morning with the guys at coffee before we head out again. We are so blessed. Today was warm and sunny and we have received many messages to not hurry home for the weather up north!!! Tonight we have the fan going to cool us down. (Sorry to you Albertans) We are heading back to Arizona, picking up our new 5th wheel and taking it to BC, dropping it off and heading home to Alberta as when we come back to BC we will need to bring our horse trailer with tools. What a life!! Love to all, Hand N

Back in touch
Sorry we have not kept up to our blog. I could not get it to work in rural Arizona but we are back on the road back to Texas. We should arrive tomorrow, pick up the trailer and turn around and head back to Arizona, then take our new one home to BC. We no longer have to bring both back due to the gracious friendship we share with our friends. We had a wonderful relaxing time (well, the way we relax) in Arizona. We saw lots of friends and managed to put in a very long day today but made over 700 miles so we were proud of ourselves. That leaves us a little leaway tomorrow to have a bit of time to intrude on all of our friends valentine celebrations :)
It is hard to believe we will be back in Alberta next week. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!! Missing our friends and family but DEFINITELY not the weather. Once again we enjoyed sunshine and snow free roads, and miles upon miles of nothing!!! Kind of like the prairies with... cactus!!
Love to all, N.

One big state!!!
We are still in Texas even after driving all day. We should hit El Paso tomorrow morning and plan to stop at a carpet/horse blanket place that we missed on the way here. We are very comfy at a KOA tonight and just got our propane tanks filled which was very important as it is 44 degrees!!!! Wish we had our fireplace!!!! WE stopped at one Wal Mart and I managed to better equip our 5th wheel. It is getting closer to a coordinated home :) We should reach our destination tomorrow. Love to all, H and N

Pearsons and the terrible no good very bad day!!

We had a grand last day in Texas with breakfast with friends, off to pick up the RV, took one teensy u-turn too sharp, now are blessed with a man's window. - duct tape and cardboard!! We came home around 4:30 and had to have a dinner party with more friends to celebrate some good medical test results of a friend. We are going to miss the great times with friends!!
Today we started out for Arizona. We finally got on the freeway and our truck decided it had had enough!!! We had to get a tow to a small town but God was good as the wrecker was also mechanically minded as is H. and a new fuel filter solved the problem. We think we got some dirty fuel. Tonight we are not as far as we hoped but.................... we are retired. We are parked and thinking about having a shower, enjoying a DVD, hitting the hay and starting out early tomorrow to conquer new territory. I am not sleeping as well as I could because my bedroom is not totally coordinated. Hoping to remedy that tomorrow!! Target, here I come!!! We came through the hill country today, sun shining and absolutely gorgeous. I was my typical compatable travelling companion as I slept quite a bit.
We are glad to be stopped for the night. N

Farewell to Texas - for now

Today we are back on the road. We leave with VERY mixed feelings as our friends here have become more than friends - they have become family. Yesterday was so packed it was almost hilarious!! Our ladiie's ensemble was invited to student chapel to sing (our choir director has such a passion for music and the Lord that watching him, I get so choked up I can hardly sing), then ladie's and men's ensemble sang at coffee time, oh yes and so did H and I. It has been so much fun playing for both group, guitar and djembe. Esther and I have had a ball steeeeeeeetching our guitar abilities. We are almost ready for the road (well, we were until we watched the students playing classical guitar - we haven't learned it all yet :)
Lunch was spent with Ike and Viola, dear friends, then off to a ladie's tea in the afternoon where I shared the nonsense of my book and future book and then shared my story. My dear friends prepared a punch to die for and some yummy goodies, making the room pretty and coordinated (a very important detail for me). It is the first time in my years of speaking that they wanted a question time after!!! It was so fun. The evening was capped off with a HUGE potluck supper, then the students shared with us and gave us some beautiful music. Then off for coffee with some kindred spirits, Darla and Terry in their beautiful RV which feels like a home. Of course, the hardest part of the day was the goodbyes. We have loved our time here and anticipate returning next year.
We are off the breakfast with some friends, then off to pick up the new RV, switch some things over, and hit the road!!!
Tune in for our next leg of the journey. Blessings, N.
